Use an asterisk as the wildcard. Words can be grouped into phrases by parentheses. The operators "AND", "OR", and "NOT" are recognized; if no operator separates words or phrases then "AND" will be used as the default. For example "(receptor kinase) AND membrane NOT hypothetical" will retrieve annotations that contain the phrase "receptor kinase" and the word "membrane" but not the word "hypothetical".
